This page contains a series of downloadable documents to help you with sailing at Lancing.
The contain the definition of the scoring system being used and the prizes that will be awarded. It also explains the meaning of the flags and courses.
All races will be governed by the rules as defined under The Racing Rules of Sailing in the Sailing Instructions.
RACE OFFICER and TEAM – HELP ON THE DAY
If on the day of your duty you need any advice on course-laying, timings, limit mark, start line setting etc, please seek advice from our Mentor Group, i.e. ask anyone on the Sailing Committee or one of the experienced sailors listed on the notice board in the Race Box. If you are at sea, please ask one of the sailors on the water.

Handicaps
- Lancing Correction Factor (LCF)
- Handicap system based on Portsmouth Yardstick taking into account local tidal conditions.
- Personal Handicap
- Handicap adjusted to suit experience/performance
