Lancing Sailing Club – Welcomes New Members

A membership year runs from April to April.

Our sailing season starts at the end of March or the beginning of April and runs through to the end of November although members may take their own boats out at any time during the year.

Sailboats, windsurfers and paddleboards with an allocated berth can remain at the club throughout the membership period.

Club Boats

The club currently has 14 one or two-person boats ranging from RS Tera’s for the smallest younger members, to ILCA’s for the more experienced sailor.

Boats can be hired during club open hours which are

Saturday mornings in the summer,

Wednesday evenings

Sunday all day.

There is a modest charge for the hire of these boats to help with maintenance costs, the fees start from £5.00* per day for juniors (under 18) or £10.00* per day for adults.

*Free training boat use during official training sessions.

Whilst the use of club boats is allowed to all sailing members, we do encourage members to own their own boats.

 Training

We hold training sessions run by volunteers on  various Saturday mornings during the summer months (weather and volunteers permitting), these sessions are free to members and include the use of club boats. Training caters for people who have previous experience of sailing (even if only a little) and aims to bring them to a standard where they can join in the Sunday racing program. There are safety boats in operation during these sessions.
