Wednesday Evening Series 17 and Johnny McKeown’s celebration

On the evening the racing will have a 6pm start and we will look to get things going when the sailors are off the water and everything is packed away. Mike Theo has kindly taken the lead to get a BBQ under way with some meat from the Steyning butcher. The bar will of course be open and a Greek themed barbecue will be served. With some delicious Greek themed accompaniments and veggie option. Penny will be doing Dolmades and a vegan yihanes gigantes (giant butter beans in a tomato sauce).

The meal is a Greek style meal, in recognition of Johnny’s love of Vassiliki and Johnny was always fond of the Wednesday evening series since they are run on a personal handicap basis, giving newer and less experienced sailors a chance to win a trophy so we think this event will have gained his approval.

We are hoping that Johnny’s family will be able to get to the Club and we will present and this years prize for the Wednesday series about 9 o’clock. Of course there won’t be a need to hurry away after.

There will be a charge of £10 for the BBQ which will be a preorder up until evening of Sunday 23 August so we can order the meat. Bob will put a poll on the WhtasApp announcement or RSVP on here.
