Sailing got underway with the usual Easter series on the Easter bank holiday morning with 14 boats taking to the water on a bright day in excellent conditions. In fact, the whole series proved to be popular and attracting good numbers with only one weekend being lost to the weather during the early season series which saw Matt Carter claim top spot in the Fast Fleet in his 700, Sean and Fiona the Medium Fleet in the Vision.

A lot of planning and organising was already underway during April for the planned Open Day to be held at LSC on Saturday 9th May. A big thank you goes out to all the members from all different parts of the Club that volunteered and turned up on the morning to make the day so successful. The Club was a hive of activity with visitors being welcomed and offered the opportunity to see everything the Club had to offer from swimming, kayaking and sailing. It was great to see so many visitors take the opportunity and see LSC at its best. They even were fed and watered with a great selection of food in the Canteen. A big thank you to everyone who got involved.

As we went into May new furniture has arrived on the decking to accompany the new picnic tables. Thank you for Barry to putting it all together. Please give feedback on it. There are a couple of seats, a small bench and low table. Hopefully it will provide a nice place to sit and encourage people to enjoy the decking and view from the Club whilst the building is open and sailing going on.

May saw the start of the Wednesday evening series which has already proved pretty successful with 3 of the first 4 races having been sailed in some nice warm weather. There always is a more relaxed atmosphere for the midweek sailing, one start, personal handicaps to reflect individuals and not just the boat. Of course, the evening is rounded off with fish and chips and an open bar whilst using the new furniture on the decking. So far there have been 18 competitors in the series and the last Wednesday in May attracting 15 starters.

The LSC training got underway towards the end of May in near perfect conditions and several of our Club members there to improve their sailing skill and putting the Club boats to good use. There are 8 sessions planned by Simon through the summer months on dates with a lower tide which are published in the sailing calendar. These dates could also be considered for free sailing whilst the rescue boat is on the water. There is an opportunity for a club member to attend a Dinghy Instructors Course towards the end of August. Anyone interested should speak to Simon M to get more details.

We have a new SUP pump which can be found on charge in the Foyer. It needs returning to the Foyer and putting back on charge after use.

The water sports section organised by Michelle had a full moon swim and fire on the beach 30/5/26 a lovely start to the longer summer evening

Lastly Amin has been working hard to bring the kitchen up to a good hygiene rating. There is an inspection set for 8th June which will report on the hygiene of the kitchen. Thank you for all your efforts Amin and looking forward to seeing how it has gone and how we all might be able to help to maintain the standard going forward
