At Lancing Sailing Club we offer a wide range of Watersports activities from sailing to swimming and standup paddle boarding. On the 22nd July we are holding our have a go at Sailing Day where you can come and have a go at sailing\, swimming and much more for free! \nThe Club has a strong social scene with a bar and canteen. \nLancing Sailing Club is situated with direct beach access to some of the best sailing and watersports venues in the UK; a place perfect to get wet\, relax on the beach and enjoy the Club House to socialise in after\, with warm showers\, changing rooms and facilities for storing watersports kit (kayaks\, SUPs\, windsurfing kit and more). \nWithin the club we have the following going on: \n\nDinghy sailing\, with an active racing fleet sailing April through to December. Regular Wednesday evening and Sunday racing.\nOpen Water Sea Swimming\nNew to 2023 we have invested in a new storage for boards and are forming a new SUP division. The Club has a pump and all the things you could need after a day out on the water!\n\nWe hold regular social events making best use of our onsite members bar and canteen. DESCRIPTION:Hi All\, \nLets get more people out on the water! In order to successfully run the open day we need volunteers. Please can you register below to help support on the 1st July from 12pm to 5pm. \nGeneral plan currently is to take people out on the water from 1 ish after the training has completed. We will run through to 5pm\, with a BBQ and social aspect to be occurring throughout and into the evening. All subject to number of members! \nWe need people to do the following: \n\nSafety – risk assessment etc\nPublicity – website\,\, Facebook\, local press\nMembership follow up once they’ve been out on the water\nPlanning help coordinate all of this – Simon needs a hand!\nVolunteer management- I’ve started though someone to help would be great!\nBeach Crew to Launch and Land\nSafety boat\nSailors\, willing to take people out on the water\,\nSwimmers to engage with potential swimmers (organize a swim?)\nSocial\, all good days should end with food right!?\nKit organizers\nReception- book the guests in and show them where to go\nRig boats\nTidy up and put boats/kit away\n\nNot all the above needs to be done on that day so would be great to have an extra hand whatever\, tasks have been split out to ensure we have enough people\, though feel free to do extra tasks on the day! \nCheers\, \nTom\, Simon and Matt

DESCRIPTION:Work Party\nSunday 12th March\n09:00 to 09:30 start \nThe first work party is on Sunday and there is plenty to do to get the Club ready and set for the season ahead. \nThe big project is to prepare the ground and erect the new SUP container. \nThere is plenty of painting to be done\, outside mainly. \nThe usual tasks of checking the race equipment and getting things ready for racing. \nOne more warning. The Annexe Hut is to be cleared of unauthorised equipment on the second work party. If it should not be in the hut please clear it and take it away. \nWe could do with the following. An electric sander or two. A couple of socket sets and spanner’s to put the container together. Some long spirit levels to make sure the base of the container is level. A couple of strimmers to reduce the long grass and weeds and another hedge trimmer for the hedge. JP has asked for some large bulky bags for hedge and weed waste. \nLastly please come in clothes to keep you warm and could get paint or muck on. \nAs the Chinese electrician says “Many hands make light work” 😊
