DESCRIPTION:Peter from St John Ambulance will be holding a First Aid Awareness course which will cover CPR and Defib awareness\, recovery position\, catastrophic bleeding and general wound care.  He will also touch on safety boat first aid.  Peter is offering this course free of charge\, however\, we will collect on the day a donation for St John’s Ambulance. \nThe session will last about 3.5 hours so will finish around 1 p.m when you can relax and enjoy a Ploughman’s lunch followed by a dessert for £5.00!! \nPlaces will be limited to 15 people so please book on line and not just turn up on the day as we need to monitor the numbers. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:LSC Members are invited to attend the most interesting Sussex Underwater visit at LSC on Friday 10th January 2025. \nEric and Catrine will be visiting LSC to tell us all about their mission advocating for the protection of our marine ecosystems \n“We are a group of passionate local people who want to make everyone fall in love with the local sea in Sussex.\nOur journey began with the inspiring tale of our co founder Eric Smith\, a 76 year old local diver who was an eye witness to destructive fishing practices which destroyed the seabed. His campaign to get trawlers banned in Sussex has been showcased in the BBC documentary (Our Lives; Our Sea Forest on BBC I player) highlighting the profound impact one individuals passion and drive can have to galvanise a change for the better. Sussex Underwater was set up so the sea was never “out of sight and out of mind” again”. \nWe will also hear about the kelp recovery project – the largest marine rewilding project in the UK and their eye witness account of the devastation of the Sussex seabed and its recovery since the trawler ban. \nWe will be serving some chilli and a jacket potato during the evening and the bar will be open. \nThe cost of the evening will be £5.00 a ticket for members and £8.00 for non members\, proceeds of which will be given to Sussex Underwater. \n

This is a good opportunity to start your summer sea swimming in a relaxed fun atmosphere.  If you just fancy a swim without brekkie come on down. \nMeet at the rocks by Lancing Sailing Club at 4.15 a.m.  After our refreshing swim we will be serving a tasty sausage in a bap (veggie or meat) or a bacon bap accompanied by OJ\, coffee or tea at a cost of £3.00 per member and £6.00 per non member (which includes the £3.00 daily membership charge). Please book below. \nFor those who have not joined us at the club before this is an exciting opportunity come and have a look at where sailing and watersports happen\, not forgetting the busy social scene. \nFor non members – a member will be delighted to sign you in to the guest book in the foyer. DESCRIPTION:Ever fancied a go at Sailing or other Watersports? Do you walk past thinking one day you should have a try? Well here’s the opportunity! At Lancing Sailing Club we offer a wide range of Watersports activities from sailing to swimming and standup paddle boarding. On the 1st June we are holding our have a go at Watersport Day where you can come and have a go at sailing\, swimming and much more for free! \nThe Club has a strong social scene with a bar and canteen. \nLancing Sailing Club is situated with direct beach access to some of the best sailing and watersports venues in the UK; a place perfect to get wet\, relax on the beach and enjoy the Club House to socialise in after\, with warm showers\, changing rooms and facilities for storing watersports kit (Sailing Dinghies\,kayaks\, SUPs\, windsurfing kit and more). \nWithin the club we have the following going on: \n\nDinghy sailing\, with an active racing fleet sailing April through to December. Regular Wednesday evening and Sunday racing.\nOpen Water Sea Swimming\nSUP/Kayak division. The Club has a pump and all the things you could need after a day out on the water!\n\nWe hold regular social events making best use of our onsite members bar and canteen. We hope you can join us to meet our members and have a go on the 1st of June and see what the club is all about. \nPlease RSVP below selecting the activity you wish to partake in\, to give you the best experience\, the number of tickets on the website will be limited. Though if you don’t want to commit do come along on the day and we will do our best to get you out on the water. In an hour slot we will get you out on the water. For the 1st slot please arrive from 14:00. \nOn the day we will also have Hot Dogs (Veggi and meat) Plus drinks available\, \nEvent is subject to weather conditions\, by registering up front we will aim to contact you to inform of likely cancellation postponement\, plus ensure we have enough support from our Lovely Members. \nIf you intend to come along we have a small selection of wetsuits and you will be kitted out with a buoyancy aid. Though if you have your own wetsuit/kit feel free to bring it along. Sunscreen\, Towel and swimming suit recommended. \nFor Children we recommend a minimum age of 7 for participation and that parents should be able to out on the water with Child. For 13-18 Parental consent required. \nCan’t make the 1st June? Do get in contact and we will be delighted to show you around another day!

On the 22nd July we are holding our have a go at Sailing Day where you can come and have a go at sailing\, swimming and much more for free! \nThe Club has a strong social scene with a bar and canteen. \nLancing Sailing Club is situated with direct beach access to some of the best sailing and watersports venues in the UK; a place perfect to get wet\, relax on the beach and enjoy the Club House to socialise in after\, with warm showers\, changing rooms and facilities for storing watersports kit (kayaks\, SUPs\, windsurfing kit and more). \nWithin the club we have the following going on: \n\nDinghy sailing\, with an active racing fleet sailing April through to December. Regular Wednesday evening and Sunday racing.\nOpen Water Sea Swimming\nNew to 2023 we have invested in a new storage for boards and are forming a new SUP division. The Club has a pump and all the things you could need after a day out on the water!\n\nWe hold regular social events making best use of our onsite members bar and canteen. DESCRIPTION:Hi All\, \nLets get more people out on the water! In order to successfully run the open day we need volunteers. Please can you register below to help support on the 1st July from 12pm to 5pm. \nGeneral plan currently is to take people out on the water from 1 ish after the training has completed. We will run through to 5pm\, with a BBQ and social aspect to be occurring throughout and into the evening. All subject to number of members! \nWe need people to do the following: \n\nSafety – risk assessment etc\nPublicity – website\,\, Facebook\, local press\nMembership follow up once they’ve been out on the water\nPlanning help coordinate all of this – Simon needs a hand!\nVolunteer management- I’ve started though someone to help would be great!\nBeach Crew to Launch and Land\nSafety boat\nSailors\, willing to take people out on the water\,\nSwimmers to engage with potential swimmers (organize a swim?)\nSocial\, all good days should end with food right!?\nKit organizers\nReception- book the guests in and show them where to go\nRig boats\nTidy up and put boats/kit away\n\nNot all the above needs to be done on that day so would be great to have an extra hand whatever\, tasks have been split out to ensure we have enough people\, though feel free to do extra tasks on the day! \nCheers\, \nTom\, Simon and Matt
